Nor’wester likely to bring respite from heat wave in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: While Odisha has been reeling under intense heat wave conditions, nor’wester may bring respite from the extreme weather in the coming days, predicted Regional Meteorological Centre here today.

Under the impact of nor’wester, temperature across the state may drop by 2 degree Celsius around May 1-2, the Meteorological Centre forecasted.

On the other hand, the Meteorological Centre issued Yellow Warning in connection with the heat wave for several districts of the state for the next couple of days.

Below is day-wise forecast:

April 29: Heat wave condition very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Angul, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh and Bolangir.

April 30: Heat wave condition very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sonepur, Bolangir and Boudh.

May 1: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada and Koraput.

May 2: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Balasore.
