Notorious criminal booked under NSA in Odisha

Commissionerate police has booked notorious criminal Rajesh Pal under National Security Act, informed Rajendra Prasad Sharma, twin-city commissioner of police, here today.

Booked criminal Rajesh Pal hails from Cuttack and has several serious cases against him.

Rajesh was involved in many cases of dacoity, robbery, attempt to murder, forcible extortion, bombing, attacking innocent people using deadly weapons etc. He was the main associate of notorious antisocial Nilakantha Sahu alias Minza and Biswanath Behera alias Tutu and operated in Mangalabag and Malgodown area of Cuttack creating a reign of terror in both the localities.

On August 22 this year, he along with his associates hurled bombs and fired shots at his rival Bijay Rout. A case has been registered against him at Mangalabag police station.

Based on the report of the DCP Cuttack, Sharma passed orders for his detention under NSA. He is currently lodged in Choudwar circle jail.

“Criminals, who terrorize people, create fear and threaten life, are booked under NSA. Rajesh has several serious cases against him. He used to run his criminal activities from 2009 in Manglabag and Malgodown area of Cuttack city. He with his accomplices had hurled bombs and fired shots in 2015 to create panic among the people. Therefore he has been booked under NSA,” said Sharma speaking to newsmen here.
