Notorious criminal Krishna injured in police encounter in Odisha’s Balangir

Balangir: Dreaded criminal Krishna was injured in an encounter with police at Tusura Chhak in Odisha’s Balangir district last night.

Acting on a tip-off, police raided a place to apprehend him but he opened fire at the cops in a bid to escape. During retaliation by police, he sustained bullet injuries on his left leg.

He was initially rushed to the Saintala hospital, later admitted to Balangir hospital and eventually shifted to VIMSAR in Burla for treatment.

Several criminal cases, including Rs 19 lakh loot from Andhra Bank in Deogaon and Rs 3 lakh robbery from manager of a liquor shop in Saintala, are pending against him, police sources said.
