Now get trade licence online in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar: Good news for businessmen under Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) as they can now avail their trade licence online  to operate their business instead of visiting the civic body’s office time and again for the certificate.

Sources in BMC said that an applicant can get trade licence just in 15 days by furnishing all the documents on the website bhubaneswar.me.

In this regard, BMC has imparted training to ward officers and miscellany (Misc.) sarkars of 67 wards on Tuesday to approve the trade licence applications to be submitted online.

According to sources, all the data will be forwarded to the ward official concerned after applying for the trade licence online. Within two days of the application, the official will direct the Misc. Sarkar concerned for field inspection. After completing the process, the ward supervisor will apprise the online application. Later, zonal deputy commissioner will recommend the application in three days following which the applicant can obtain the licence.

In case of error found in the application form, the ward officer will inform the applicant online. However, the trade licence certificate will be prepared automatically through the process if the facts would have been provided correctly in the application form and no message would come from the ward officer regarding the application, the BMC said.
