Now, passengers can buy Maniabandha handloom products at Odisha’s Cuttack station

Bhubaneswar: The ‘One Station One Product’ stall at Cuttack Railway Station is now showcasing the handloom products of Maniabandha village in Badamba Tehsil of Odisha’s Cuttack District.

Now, the passengers can purchase the famous Maniabandha handloom products at Cuttack Railway Station, said the Railways in a statement today.

During his recent visit to Badamba, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw had assured the local weavers of opening of a Maniabandha stall at Cuttack Railway Station under the ‘One Station One Product’ initiative.

The One Station One Product concept was announced by the Centre with an objective to boost the livelihood and welfare of local artisans, potters and weavers. The railway stations will act as a marketing channel to promote the products of local artisans.

As a part of this initiative, the Maniabandha Handloom Cluster Consortium of Cuttack, consisting of more than 5,000 weavers, has got an opportunity to display and sell their handloom products at Cuttack Railway Station.

One Station One Product stalls have opened at 12 railway stations under Khurda Road Division of the East Coast Railway. The stalls have opened at Bhubaneswar, Puri, Khurda Road, Balugaon, Chhatrapur, Brahmapur, Palasa, Cuttack, Jajpur Keonjhar Road, Bhadrak, Angul and Dhenkanal railway stations under Khurda Road Division, said an official.
