Nuakhai, the major festival in western Odisha, would be observed on September 10 as per the decision of the Brahma Mandap Pandit Mahasabha here on Thursday.
“The Mahasabha decided to offer the first Prasad (Nabanna) prepared from new crop to Maa Samalaeswari, the presiding deity of the city, between 10.18 am and 10.32 am, after which people can offer Prasad at their respective homes to the Gruhadevatas,” informed Biranchi Narayan Pati, president of Brahma Mandap Pandit Mahasabha.
