Number of evaluation centres for Matric answer sheets will be increased: Minister

Bhubaneswar: After the order of Orissa High Court (HC), the state Government today decided to increase the number of evaluation centres for Class 10 answer sheets, informed School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash.

Speaking to the mediapersons, the Minister said some evaluators have complained that they will have to travel for over 10 km daily to reach the allotted centres for evaluation.

“A meeting via video conference was held with some District Education Officers (DEOs). A list of all the evaluators along with their current allotted centres is being prepared. Once the list is ready, the department will relocate the evaluators  to centres within 10 km periphery of their houses,” said the Minister.

Another round of meeting regarding the relocation procedure will be held on Monday and the final decision will be announced then, Dash added.

However, the teachers will have to strictly follow the COVID-19 guidelines during  the evaluation, he stated.
