Nurse alleges sexual exploitation, betrayal by Odisha doctor

A young nurse working in SCB Medical College and Hospital of Cuttack today filed an FIR against a doctor in Mangalabag police station alleging sexual exploitation and betrayal.

As per the complaint, Dr Ansari Majhi, who works at the Jashipur hospital, maintained physical relation with her on conditions of marriage. However, he turned his back on her after she got pregnant.

“He kept physical relation with me on conditions of marriage and I am going to be the mother of his child. Now he is trying to escape the marriage. He tells me to wait till he secures a seat for post graduate studies,” said the nurse speaking reporters.

“He also used to beat me up if I tried to pressurize him to marry me. On one occasion he humiliated and beat me up in front of my land lord even though I pleaded not to do so in front of others. I am three and half months pregnant now. My child needs an identity. I cannot wait any longer. I have no better choice but to lodge an FIR against him,” she added.

Mangalabag police has started investigation into the case based on her complaint.

Despite several attempts we could not contact Dr Majhi on the issue.
