Odia actor Manoj Mishra hospitalized for swine flu

Bhubaneswar: Popular Odia actor Manoj Mishra has been admitted to a private hospital in Odisha capital for swine flu, a source close to the actor said today.

Mishra, who had been suffering from swine flu, was admitted to a private hospital at Chandrasekharpur area here on January 2 following complaints of chest congestion and breathing issues, he added.

Mishra’s condition is stable now and is likely to be discharged in a day or two, said Sanjay Mahakud, the actor’s friend and Secretary of Bollywood Odia Association, who visited the ailing actor earlier in the day.

Mishra, an alumnus of National School of Drama (NSD), is playing the character of Punjilal Meher, in the upcoming Odia film ‘Patnagarh’, based on the sensational Patnagarh wedding gift bomb blast case.

Besides, the acclaimed Odia actor is also portraying a major character in an upcoming Hollywood movie ‘The Least of These’, based on Australian missionary Graham Steins who was burnt alive along with his two sons by right-wing activists in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha.
