Odia child actor Prajwal makes debut in Kapil Sharma-cast Hindi film ‘Zwigato’

Bhubaneswar: A 13-year-old artist Prajwal Sahoo aka Omm from Cuttack has made his debut in Kapil Sharma-cast Hindi film ‘Zwigato’. The Nandita Das-directed film will hit the theatres tomorrow (March 17).

According to the production house sources, most parts of the film were shot in Bhubaneswar. The child artiste Prajwal will be seen in a significant role. He has been cast as the son of comedy king Kapil.

The storyline of Zwigato has moved on emotional sequences and Kapil has played the role of a delivery boy in the film. Actress Sahana Goswami has been cast opposite Kapil. The film reflects the hardships of a middle-class delivery boy in the tough times of the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak, the source said.

Emotion gradually builds up between the father-son duo as Kapil (the lead character), who strives hard to eke out a living for the family, fails to give quality time to his son (Kartik), the source added.

“I was selected in the audition from among 12 to 15 children. I enjoyed it a lot when I had to shoot on the sets for the first time. Previously, I did not know acting, but used to act a little bit when I had to cover up any lie at home,” Prajwal said Sambad English with a smile on his face in an exclusive interview.

Notably, in real life, Prajwal is the grandson of Sarat Kumar Sahoo, a noted industrialist from Cuttack.

Prajwal’s natural father Arabinda Sahoo and mother Shalini Sahoo are also eminent industrialists.
