Bhubaneswar: An Odia documentary titled ‘The Sea & Seven Villages’ by noted director Himansu Khatua has been nominated for the ‘Long Documentary Competition’ category of the 15th International Documentary and Short Film Festival (IDSFFK) which will be held in Kerala, a source said today.
The six-day-long event is scheduled to be held from August 4 to August 9, the source added.
The documentary film is the outcome of an exhaustive research work done by Khatua. The director wanted to give an eye-opener message about climate change and its impact on Satabhaya. It has been produced by Iti Samanta and presented by Achyuta Samanta under the banner Kadambini Media. The documentary depicted the life and struggle of residents in the Satabhaya cluster of villages.
Worth mentioning, Satabhaya was once a cluster of seven villages and is said to be the first such region affected due to climate change. Five villages were washed away over time.
