Odia film ‘Pratikshya’ wins big at Washington film festival 2022
Bhubaneswar: Odia movie ‘Pratikshya’ has won ‘Best Story Feature Film’ Award at the Washington DC South Asia Film Festival (DCSAFF) 2022. The director of the movie Anupam Patnaik told this to Sambad English today.
Earlier, the Odia movie was shortlisted in the list of 25 feature films scheduled to be screened at the 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI).
Pratikshya narrates the story of an ordinary young man from a humble background who’s struggling between his ambitions and obligations. The movie, as suggested by its maker Anupam Patnaik, would strike emotional chords of the viewers and seem relatable to many as ‘it carries the essence of Bhubaneswar’.
‘Pratikshya’ will feature actors Dipanwit Dashmohapatra, Choudhury Jayprakash Das, Barsha Patnaik, Sreela Tripathy, Roopambika Nayak, Susil Mishra, Abakash Mishra and Sidhant Mohapatra in several roles.
The movie will have a theatrical release on December 2.
