Odia movie Adieu Godard gets shoutout from Anurag Kashyap

Bhubaneswar: Odia movie Adieu Godard on Thursday received a shoutout from Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, a day ahead of its nationwide theatrical release.

Sharing the trailer of the movie on his Twitter profile, Kashyap wrote, “ The first Odia film to release across India. Great job @platoonfilms . Looking forward to watching it.”

 

 

Adieu Godard is an Amartya Bhattacharyya directorial. It is an India, France co-production by Swastik Arthouse, FilmStop Entertainment and Les Films de la Haute-Vallee.

The movie casts Odia actors Choudhury Bikash Das, Shankar Basu Mallick, Abhishek Giri, Swastik Choudhury, Dipanwit Dashmohapatra, Choudhury Jayaprakash Das, and Sudhasri Madhusmita among other actors.

Adieu Godard is the story on an old man living in a small village in India who’s addicted to watching pornography with friends. One day he brings home a DVD with Godard film inside it and soon gets obsessed with his films. Later, he initiates an idea of hosting a film festival in the village where he would screen Godard’s films. The movie narrates what happens next.

Worth mentioning here, Adieu Godard earlier won the Best Film award in the Indian Language’s Competition at the 27th Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) 2022 and later the ‘Dare to Dream’ award at the 24th UK Asian Film Festival (UKAFF).

Adieu Godard is going to be the first Odia movie to release across India on September 2, 2022.
