Odia movie DAMaN declared tax-free in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Odia film DAMaN, based on the malaria eradication programme of the state government, would be exempted from tax in Odisha.

This was announced by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here today.

“The movie would inspire the employees of state government, including the health staffs, to perform their duties with utmost care and sincerity,” said the Chief Minister.

The state government has done an extremely good work during the Covid-19 pandemic. There was excellent coordination among various department of the state government, he added.

“We can create a healthy and prosperous society by continuing with our good work,” said the Chief Minister.

DAMaN is a story of a doctor who fearlessly performs his duties without caring about any consequences. His struggle for making people aware of the fact that malaria cannot be cured through superstitions but it can only be cured with proper awareness among the people in the remote places of Odisha is the theme of the movie.

Popular Ollywood actor Babusan essayed the role of the fearless doctor in the movie.
