Odia movie ‘Pratikshya’ to be screened in Chennai on Dec 20

Bhubaneswar: Odia movie ‘Pratikshya’, running successfully in theatres since its release on Dec 2, has been selected for screening at this year’s Chennai International Film Festival (CIFF) on December 20.

After being screened at IFFI and DCSAFF, the Odia movie is scheduled for screening at Sathyam-Serene Cinemas at 10:15 am on next Tuesday.

Director Anupam Patnaik, who earlier talked at Odisha Nirman Conclave 2022 about the significance of theatre-going audiences in ensuring success of Odia movies, welcomed cinephiles in Chennai to watch the movie at the CIFF screening.

‘Pratikshya’ had a smashing theatrical on December 2. The movie that created quite a buzz with its screenings at several national and international film festivals, prior to its release, also garnered immense love and appreciation from the audiences after the release.

‘Pratikshya’ is an adaptation of eminent writer Gourahari  Das’ short story which portrays the life of a young middle-class man and his complicated emotions around his dreams, aspirations and duty towards his family. Actors Dipanwit Dashmohapatra, Choudhury Jayprakash Das, Barsha Patnaik, Sreela Tripathy, Roopambika Nayak, Susil Mishra, Abakash Mishra and Sidhant Mohapatra are seen in several roles.
