Bhubaneswar: In a matter of pride for Odisha, Odia feature film “Whispers of a Storm” received a shout-out
from UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak during his message to the ongoing UK Asian Film Festival.
The movie, which premiered in London on May 9, got recognition when the Prime Minister expressed his wishes for the oldest-running Asian Film Festival in the world and  its accomplishments over the years.
Set against the backdrop of a village devastated by Cyclone Fani which hit the coastal belts of Odisha in 2019, the film revolves around a photographer attempting to capture the impact of the storm and how his interaction with affected people unravels how they came to terms with the loss of human lives in their own ways.

It has been directed by National Award and State Award winner Amartya Bhattacharyya and produced by Swastik Choudhury under the banner of Swastik Arthouse, in association with Dr. U T Rao and Filmstop Entertainment.  The lead roles are enacted by Dipanwit Dashmohapatra, Swastik Choudhury, Priyanka Ghosh Roy, and Radha Krushna.  Kisaloy Roy and Sujoy Das have scored music and sound design, respectively.

The team of Whispers of a Storm recently launched the trailer of the film in a somber remembrance of the 4th anniversary of this cyclone Fani. Here’s the link.
