Odia song ‘Sindura Matha Re Tora’ gets a contemporary feel

Bhubaneswar: Suresh Wadekar and Anuradha Paudwal left us mesmerised by their rendition in the popular Odia song ‘Sindura Matha Re Toro’ from the movie ‘Kanyadaan’. The song beautifully depicted the feelings of a couple torn by life’s circumstances.

In an attempt to recreate the magic, young singers Sumeet Mohapatra and Sanchita Subhadarshini have come up with a cover of this song, the teaser of which released on March 9.

For Sumeet, a software engineer working in Bengaluru, this is more than just a song. “My parents love this song and somehow, I connect strongly with it,” he added.

The new track has a faster tempo in comparison to the original one. “We have tried a new pattern in singing which the listeners would be able to identify with once the music video releases,” he further said.

The music video has been produced by Tamasa Mishra and Sumeet Mohapatra under ST Production, while Nihar Kant has donned the director’s hat for the music video. “The video will release tomorrow on my YouTube channel and I am quite eager to know the viewers’ response,” Sumeet added.
