Odisha: 3 arrested for uploading photo of 4th COVID-19 patient on FB

In a similar case, Balasore police arrested two youth for spreading rumours on the deadly virus on social media.

Bhadrak : Hours after the Odisha Government confirmed the fourth COVID-19 positive case in the state, the Bhadrak police today arrested three youths on charges of uploading photo of the patient, who hails from Bhadrak district, and giving their personal remarks on social media.

Yesterday, the Health and Family Welfare Department last night informed that the fourth positive patient is a 29-year-old male and have a travel history to Dubai.

The department further cautioned that the patient did not have any symptoms; hence,  people with travel history but no symptoms should not be complacent and must follow home quarantine for two weeks and then self monitor their health condition for another two weeks.

Besides, the Bhadrak Collector was asked to shift the patient to SCB Medical College and Hoapital in Cuttack. he was also instructed to isolate close contacts of the patient and get them undergo a test.

In a similar case, Balasore police arrested two youth from Khaira police station area for spreading rumour regarding  the deadly virus on social media. The duo-Sarat Das and Bijay Mallick of Krushnapur- had shared a post on Facebook claiming outbreak of the disease in Khaira area.
