Odisha +2 exams: Collectors asked to send reps to exam centres

With the annual Plus Two examinations scheduled to begin in Odisha from March 2, the state government on Thursday directed the district collectors to deploy their representatives at the examination centres.

During a videoconferencing with the district collectors and superintendents of police (SPs) at the State Secretariat here, chief secretary GC Pati informed the collectors that the representatives must reach the respective examination centres by 9 AM and supervise all arrangements. The question papers would be opened in their presence at 9.45 AM.

If the collector’s representatives fail to arrive at the centres as scheduled, the centre superintendents would open the question paper packets, said Development Commissioner UN Behera.

He also directed the collectors and SP to actively cooperate with the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) for the smooth conduct of the examinations.

The SPs were asked to ensure tight security at the examination hubs and centres and provide adequate policemen at the time of despatch of question papers from the hubs to the centres and the answer papers from the centres to the hubs.

The CHSE has set up 203 hubs where the question papers are kept and 1092 centres where about 3,72,000 students will appear for examinations.

Each examination centre will have a centre superintendent and a deputy superintendent. However, as decided by the CHSE, there would be more deputy superintendents in centres if the number of the students is more.

Among others, DGP Sanjib Marik and senior officials of the CHSE were present.
