Odisha: +2 meritorious students to get free laptops by Dec 2019

Bhubaneswar: The state government will provide free laptops to meritorious students, who have successfully cleared the annual Plus II examinations 2019, by December this year.

The process has been initiated for distribution of free laptops to 15,000 students.

The distribution process will be completed by December, 2019, informed a source in the Higher Education department.

The students will get laptops under Biju Yuva Sashaktikaran Yojana, the Free Laptop Tablet Distribution Scheme to Meritorious Students. A merit list of students eligible for free laptops will be released by the department soon.

Last year, the government had issued revised guidelines mentioning the eligibility criteria. As per the guidelines, apart from the meritorious students in Arts, Science and Commerce streams, the vocational students passing from CHSE Odisha and Upashastri students from Shri Jagannath Sanskrit Vishvavidyalaya, Puri will also be eligible to get free laptops under the scheme.
