Odisha: 21 undertrial prisoners in this jail test COVID-19 positive

Udala: As the COVID-19 virus continues to spread its tentacles in the state, 21 undertrial prisoners (UTPs) lodged at Udala Sub-Jail in Mayurbhanj district have contracted the virus.
“Yesterday, samples of 76 inmates were collected for testing, out of which 21 tested positive for the virus,” informed Udala NAC Executive Officer.

The infectees have been kept under isolation and the jail premises has completely been sanitised following detection of the cases.
Earlier on April 11, nine inmates of two jails in Gajapati district had tested positive for COVID-19.
