Odisha: 27 more COVID-19 patients recover, active cases in BBSR reduced to 3

Bhubaneswar: In a good news amid sharp rise in COVID-19 cases in Odisha, as many as 27 patients of the state tested negative for the virus and recovered, official sources said today.

They include 9 persons from Balasore, 8 from Bhubaneswar, 4 from Bhadrak, 2 each from Ganjam and Sundargarh, and one each from Koraput and Keonjhar. All of them are being discharged from COVID hospitals, sources added.

With this, the number of recovered persons in the state rose to 143. Capital city Bhubaneswar, which had initially emerged as the COVID-19 hotspot of the state with over 40 cases, has now mere three active cases.

Earlier in the day, Odisha registered its highest spike in COVID-19 cases as 101 more persons tested positive for the virus taking the tally to 538.
