Odisha: 3 hospitalised as fire breaks out at Puri market complex

Puri: At least three persons sustained injuries when fire broke out at a market complex in the Holy City here today.

The injured have been rushed to the district headquarters hospital (DHH) sources said.

According to sources, fire broke out at Samrat Market Complex on the Grand Road here at around 8.30 pm.

Soon several shops were engulfed by the flames, said a local.

On being informed, fire brigade personnel with six fire engines reached the spot and tried to douse the flames.

“At least three persons got stuck inside a shop at the market complex during the mishap. Our personnel rescued the trio and rushed them to the DHH. They sustained minor injuries,” said a Fire Brigade official.

The Fire Brigade personnel were busy containing the flames till the last report came in.
