Odisha: 30 platoons of police to be deployed in Cuttack city during Durga Puja

Cuttack: In order to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in Cuttack City, the Commissionerate Police will ensure tight security during Durga Puja. This was informed by Cuttack DCP Prateek Singh today.

He further said as many as 30 platoons of police force and 100 officers will be engaged in the security duty in the millennium city. At around 14 places in the city idol immersion will take place, he added.

Earlier, the Orissa High Court allowed nine puja committees in the city to organize Durga Puja with the size of the Goddess idol more than four feet. However, the court asked the puja committees to adhere to Covid-19 norms while allowing the visitors to pay obeisance to the Goddess.
