Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police today claimed to have arrested four outsiders in connection with the assault on three students of Buxi Jagabandhu Bidyadhar (BJB) Autonomous College here yesterday.

The police have seized a few sharp weapons, sticks and a bike in connection with the assault case, said an official of Badagada police station.

Notably, some outsiders had attacked a group of students of BJB College with sharp weapons following an argument over playing cricket on the campus play ground yesterday.

Three students had sustained critical injuries in the incident and were rushed to a hospital.

All the injured students are the boarders of Ambedkar Hostel of BJB College, said a police officer.

According to sources, a group of students was playing cricket on the college playground in the morning hours of yesterday. Some outsiders reportedly asked the students to vacate the place so that they could play a game.

A heated argument ensued between the students and the outsiders when the former refused to vacate the place. Soon, the outsiders attacked the students with sharp weapons and fled the spot.
