Odisha: 4 teachers jailed for submitting fake certificates during appointment

Bhubaneswar: Four teachers of government schools in Balasore district of Odisha were convicted by a Vigilance court for submitting fake educational certificates for getting the jobs.

The convicted teachers were awarded two years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000 each by the Vigilance court, said an official of the anti-corruption agency today.

The convicted teachers are Daitary Nayak, assistant teacher at Mahisapata Government UGME School; Narahari Nayak, former teacher at Jharanaghati Primary School; Dhirendra Nayak, former teacher (retired) at Pathahata Nodal Primary School and Debendra Kumar Mohapatra, former assistant teacher at Tentulia UGME School in Balasore district, said the official.

Teacher Narahari Nayak was under suspension prior to his conviction in the case while assistant teacher Debendra Kumar Mohapatra was transferred and posted at Kalyani Government Primary School at Mitrapur in Balasore district, said the official.
