Odisha: 4,000 people of five villages shifted before missile test

Balasore: The district administration today shifted around 4,000 people of five villages located close to the missile test range at Chandipur ahead of the maiden trial of surface-to-surface tactical short range ballistic missile ‘Pralay’.

Close to 630 families of Khadupahi, Kusumulipahi, Bhimpurpahi, Jaydevkasaba Pahi and Sahaza Nagar Pahi, located within 2 km radius of the Integrated Test Range (ITR), were shifted to two temporary shelters made at Khadupahi upper primary school and Namile ghat.

As per norms of compensation, Rs 390 will be provided to each adult and Rs 235 to each child. It includes food expenses of Rs 75. Similarly, Rs 100 will be given for cattle fodder to each household.
