Odisha: 77th Independence Day function at Raj Bhavan in State Capital cancelled

Bhubaneswar: A function earlier scheduled to be held at Raj Bhavan in Bhubaneswar on the occasion of 77th Independence Day was cancelled today due to some reasons not known yet.

This was informed by the Office of the Governor of Odisha through a tweet.

Taking to official Twitter handle, the Governor of Odisha wrote, “Due to unavoidable circumstances, the AT-HOME Function at Raj Bhavan proposed to be held on 15th August 2023 has been cancelled.”

Worth mentioning, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will hoist the tri-colour National Flag and take salute in state-level Independence Day celebration at Exhibition Ground in Unit-III here.

Commissionerate Police has made elaborate security arrangements for this occasion. Odisha Police have taken preventive measures in the Maoist-infested districts of the State.

“A three-tier security cover would be in place for the 77th state-level Independence Day celebration. At least 15 platoons of police force and 100 senior officials will be deployed to ensure foolproof security for the celebrations,” Twin City Police Commissioner Saumendra Priyadarshi said earlier.
