Odisha: 8 bars raided in Bhubaneswar, show-cause notice served on 2

Bhubaneswar: A joint team of Excise department and Laxmisagar police raided eight bars in the capital city here yesterday night and verified their documents.

The team raided Ekamra, Deepali, Pentagon, Rain The Club, Live It Up, Rangila and two other bars in the city here and checked their licences and other documents, sources said.

The team issued show-cause notices on two bars—Rangila and Ekamra—for violation of rules. The two bars were found open after the midnight, sources added.

“As per the rules, bars can run their business till 12 o’clock at the night. Rangila and Ekamra bars were found doing their business at 12.15 am in violation of the rules. Show-cause notices were served on the two bars,” said an official of the Excise department.
