Odisha: Aadhaar linking for govt scheme beneficiaries is a must

Bhubaneswar: Soon beneficiaries of different government schemes in the State will be asked to provide Aadhaar card details mandatorily to avail the benefits.

Special Secretary of the Finance department, PK Biswal has sent a letter to all departments asking them use Aadhaar authentication for beneficiaries under Section 7 of the Aadhaar Act, 2016 in those schemes which are partly or fully funded by the Consolidated Fund of the State.

Also, the departments have been asked to notify the guidelines for specific Central schemes under the Section 7 of the Aadhaar Act as published by the Central Ministries.

The move is expected to stop ghost beneficiaries from availing the benefits under different schemes and help in identifying actual beneficiaries.
