Odisha acid attack survivor Pramodini to get engaged to beau on Valentine’s Day

Bhubaneswar: Acid attack survivor Pramodini Roul and her beau Saroj Sahoo decided to celebrate the Valentine’s Day and make it memorable by getting engaged today.

The engagement ceremony will be held at Sheroes Hangout Cafe in Lucknow before the love birds start their new innings of life.

Paramodini found her love during treatment when she had never imagined that someone will propose her.

Saroj, a medicine representative by profession, who was a friend of Pramodini’s nurse, entered her life as an angel, who made her feel the best things to happen in her life. They fell in love with each other.

Love is eternal and the love story of Promodini and Saroj will continue to inspire the generations.

The couple wants to organise their engagement ceremony at Sheroes Hangout Cafe where many acid attack survivors are working along with Pramodini, to encourage them to move forward in life.

Notably, Pramodini lost her eyesight and turned blind in the horrific acid attack over one-sided love affair when she was only 16.

Jilted lover Santosh, a paramilitary soldier, allegedly threw acid on Pramodini while she was returning to her uncle’s house at Tirtol on April 18, 2009.

She underwent a series of surgeries at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack but attempts went in vain and she could not retrieve her eyesight.

Recently, Pramodini had undergone a surgery following which she is now able to see her world through one eye.

Odisha police managed to the prime accused after eight years in November 2017 to give her justice.
