Odisha: Actor Buddhaditya Mohanty responds to allegations leveled against him

Bhubaneswar: Odia actor Buddhaditya Mohanty today responded to allegations leveled against him. Through a video, the actor clarified that he has not said to spoil the career of Rabindranath Panda.

“I am confidently saying in this voice that I have not sent any threatening or warning to Rabindranath Panda in his personal WhatsApp number. In Ollywood Page III group of Odia actors, I messaged him rather by addressing ‘Dada! namaskar’. My chats were wrongly interpreted,” Buddhaditya said.

“It was all in response to a posting on Pritam Sahu and Rabindranath’s remarks,” the actor stated.

It is pertinent to mention, an FIR was lodged yesterday with Nayapalli police against the Odia actor for allegedly threatening Rabindranath Panda, who claims to be a film producer.

As per the FIR, the actor took to various social media platforms and defamed Rabindranath. Allegedly, the 59-year-old complainant, identified as the son of one Balakrushna Panda and a resident of the locality in Bhubaneswar was also warned with dire consequences by the actor saying ‘See you soon’.

Even to the extent, Rabindranath was threatened by Buddhaditya that his career would be spoiled in the future. The complainant was scolded by the actor through the former’s WhatsApp number using abusive language, which was immediately deleted by the latter. Rabindranath has produced around nine films and he has been in the profession for more than a decade, the FIR mentioned.
