Odisha allows citizens to apply for DL at any RTO

Bhubaneswar: Citizens can now apply for LL, DL and other vehicle-related documents at any Regional Transport Office (RTO) in Odisha irrespective of their place of residence.

The State Transport Authority today issued a circular in this regard. Earlier, a vehicle owner was allowed to apply for the documents only at the concerned RTO under the jurisdiction of which the applicant was residing or had business. The restriction has been removed as per the amended MV Act.

“The Regional Transport Officers should not debar any person in getting Learner’s License, Final Driving License and Registration of a Motor Vehicle on the ground that he/she is not residing within the jurisdiction of respective Regional Transport Office,” the circular read.
