Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has altered the territorial jurisdiction of Sambalpur University, a notification of the Higher Education Department said.

The territorial jurisdiction of the varsity has been altered by excluding the revenue districts of Kalahandi and Nuapada districts and by including the same in the Kalahandi University at Bhawanipatna with effect from the June 1, 2020, the notification said.

"Colleges located within the revenue districts of Kalahandi and Nuapada shall disaffiliate from the Sambalpur University and be affiliated to the Kalahandi University at Bhawanipatna with effect from that date," it said.

The Government Autonomous College at Bhawanipatna shall be upgraded to the Kalahandi University with effect from June 1, 2020, the notification added.
