Odisha anganwadi workers to get tablet, phone under National Nutrition Mission

Bhubaneswar: In an era of digitization, the anganwadi workers will be provided tablet and phone for collecting the records in rural areas.

The tablet and phone will be distributed among the anganwadi workers under National Nutrition Mission (NNM), also known as POSHAN Abhiyaan launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8.

A common application software has been prepared by the Centre and the scheme will be implemented in 25 districts of Odisha in initial phase, informed a senior official in health department.

With the initiative, the data recorded by the anganwadi workers, can be digitized.

Earlier, the records were kept in the block offices. With digitization of the records collected by the anganwadi workers through tablet and phone, the data will be saved in the main server.

However, no exact date has been confirmed about distribution of tablet and phone to the anganwadi workers, he said.

On the other hand, the Chief Minister Women Empowerment scheme is all set to be launched in Odisha from June 15. The scheme will be implemented through Mission Shakti in the grassroots level, he added.
