Odisha approves Commerce stream in Adarsha Vidyalayas

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has approved the proposal of opening of Commerce stream in 30 Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas (OAVs).

“I am directed to inform that Government has been pleased to approve the proposal submitted by you for opening of Commerce stream in 30 OAVs and creation of 60 posts of PGT in Commerce stream (Level-11 in Pay matrix under ORSP Rules, 2017) in lieu of abolition of existing 30 posts each of PGT, Hindi and PGT, Odia in those OAVs,” said Raghuram R. Iyer, Additional Secretary to Government, School and Mass Education Department in a letter to SPD, OAVs, Odisha.

OAVs provide free quality education in English to the students, especially from semi-urban and rural areas across the state. The co-ed schools have been established at the Block Headquarters in all the 314 blocks of Odisha, at Secondary and Senior Secondary level from Classes VI to XII.
