Odisha: Arrangements in place for Ashokastami car festival of Lord Lingaraj

Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate Police today made elaborate arrangements for Ashokastami car festival of Lord Lingaraj which will be conducted tomorrow. A high-level preparatory meeting was held here to discuss regulation of traffic, security, vehicle parking, and effective management of the prevalent heat wave etc.

Rukuna Ratha Jatra rituals of the deity will begin at 5.00 AM and the chariot will be pulled at 3.30 PM. Hence, vehicular movement was restricted on Ratha Road.

Twelve platoons of force, two Additional DCPs, six ACPs, 15 inspectors, more than 50 sub-inspectors, and ASIs, including over 100 constables and home guards will be deployed to look after law and order.
