Odisha artist carves PM Modi’s portrait on tree to convey his message

Mayurbhanj: In an attempt to convey Prime Minister Narendra Modi about his concern for the felling of trees, an artist from Odisha recently carved a portrait of the PM on a tree at  Simlipal National Park in Mayurbhanj district.

Samarendra Behera carved the PM’s portray on the tree as he feels that he could never meet him in person.

The artist, as quoted by ANI, said since he might never get an opportunity to personally meet PM Modi, through the portrait on the tree, he wanted to request him to take notice of the illegal felling of trees in the forest. The artist also wanted to thank the Prime Minister for carrying out various development works in the country.

Samarendra further added that the portrait is also an attempt to call upon people to join hands in saving the environment.

It may be mentioned here that Samarendra is known for his art works on environmental conservation and cleanliness. He is also popular as an ‘Artist of Environment’.
