Odisha artistes celebrate Mother’s Day with ’10 hour’ online dance festival

Bhubaneswar: In difficult times like the battle of the human race against COVID-19 pandemic, recognizing little moments of celebrations becomes more of a necessity than a social obligation.

Amid the lockdown gloom, Odisha artistes have geared up to celebrate ‘Mother’s Day’ in a unique way with a 10-hour online dance festival today.

The dance festival ‘ Happy For Hope’ presented by the Lasyakala Dance Vision group under the aegis of celebrated dance exponent Saswat Joshi has already kickstarted and is streaming live on Facebook.

The dance festival will platter a  rich combination of Odissi and Sambalpuri dance items that artists from the districts of Puri, Sambalpur, Jagatsinghpur, Bhubaneswar, Khordha, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Pipli, Biramitrapur, Titlagarh and Balasore will present from their respective homes.

The show will wrap up with Saswat Joshi’s dance performance at 8 p.m tonight.

As the lockdown has trapped the people indoors, this dance festival will serve as a chunk of treat to all the dance enthusiasts in the state, said Joshi.
