Bhubaneswar: On the occasion of Utkala Dibasa today, artists from Odisha paid tribute to the formation day of the state with their craft.

Sand art
Students of renowned sand artist Sudarsan Patnaik have sculpted a sand sculpture on the Puri beach that depicts the rich cultural heritage of Odisha.

Self-taught painter Bijay Biswal's striking portrait for Utkala Dibasa depicts the iconic Konark Sun Temple and a Puri Jagannath Temple in the background with a fictional train on one side. The former chief ticket inspector captioned it: "Odisha Shining...Let the wheel of progress be faster...carrying along what's best among us..."
Micro art by Susrita Samantaray
Bhubaneswar-based microbiologist Susrita Samantaray, known for her micro art of Odisha monuments, has created an intricately sketched map of Odisha with the words 'Bande Utkala Janani' in Odia.
