Bhubaneswar: In the wake of coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the Archaeological Survey Of India (ASI) today said all the Centrally protected monuments or sites will remain closed till March 31, 2020 until further order. Also, site museums including ticketed ones will be closed.
Online permissions in respect of photography, filming operation, entry fee, photography, cultural events issued will also be cancelled.
All the Officials engaged/posted in archaeological monuments/sites and site museums under the jurisdiction of ASI, Bhubaneswar Circle shall remain present in their respective place of duty as usual. The decision was taken by Superintending Archaeologist Arun Malik on basis of a directive issued by the Director General, ASI.
All In-charges of site museums and sub-circles under the ASI, Bhubaneswar circle were asked to affix the copy of the order at the main entrance/conspicuous places of the museums and monuments for public viewing.
