Earlier in the day, the House was adjourned till 3.00 pm following huge uproar over price hike in petrol and diesel and teachers strike.

The Speaker Pradip Kumar Amat adjourned the House after both the Congress and BJD members trooped into the Well raising slogans against rise in petrol and diesel prices blaming the BJP-led government at Centre.

The noise grew louder after Congress demanded the BJD government to listen to the agitating teachers, who have been protesting at lower PMG since September 5 to meet their demands.

As the House began in the morning, the Speaker accepted an adjournment motion on teachers strike moved by the Congress. While School & Mass Education Minister Badri Narayan Patra was to furnish reply on the issue, the Congress members disrupted the proceedings.
