Odisha Assembly Secretary, driver test COVID positive

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Assembly Secretary Dasarathi Satpathy and his vehicle driver have tested positive for COVID-19.

Earlier, the official’s private secretary had also tested positive for the virus. Premises and building of the State Legislative Assembly were being sanitized after the incident.

The development may become a matter of concern amid the ongoing winter session of the Assembly and Omicron scare across the country.

Worth mentioning, all MLAs and officials of the Assembly had undergone COVID-19 test before the commencement of the winter session.

The session has so far been marred due to ruckus created by Opposition BJP and Congress members demanding resignation of Dibya Shankar Mishra, Minister of State (MoS) for Home, over his alleged involvement in the Mamita Meher case.
