Odisha Assembly Winter Session: Speaker warns members of action over ruckus in House

Bhubaneswar: The Winter Session of Odisha Assembly, scheduled to be held from December 1 till December 31, will run for five hours every day, in adherence to COVID-19 guidelines.

The House will run from 10.30 am till 1.30 am and from 4 pm to 6 pm every business day, informed Speaker Surjya Narayan patro today.

However, the first day of the Winter Session will begin at 11 am. On the day, the supplementary budget for 2021-22 will be presented in the House.

Discussion on adjournment motion will be held for total 90 minutes, of which 55 minutes will be given to opposition members. Of the six business days a week, Opposition BJP will be allowed to move adjournment motion for four days while Congress will be given two days for the same.

“All members of the House have been instructed not to create any ruckus in the House during Zero Hour and Governor’s speech. It depends on a legislator whether to follow the rule or not. Action will be taken as per law if it is not obeyed,” said Patro.

There will be no business on December 5,12,19 and December 26 due to Sunday and on December 25 for Christmas.
