Odisha Assly to convene spl session on SGST in May

Odisha Assembly will hold a two-day special session in May.

Governor S C Jamir today gave his approval for the convening of the two-day special session of the State Assembly on May 18 and 19 for members to debate on State Goods and Services Tax (SGST) and amendment to Odisha VAT Act, official sources said.

“On next 18th and 19th, during the two-day session, SGST and VAT Bill will be introduced, debated and placed for adoption,” informed Finance Minister Pradip Amat to reporters here today.

Before the special session, a workshop on Goods and Services Tax (GST) will be conducted for MLAs by a Central team on May 17.
