Bhubaneswar: Ramesh Chandra Sai, the BJD legislator from Athamallik Assembly constituency segment in Angul district, today resigned from primary membership of the ruling party. He sent his resignation letter to BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik.

In his resignation letter, the legislator expressed that he was elected in 2019 with the BJD ticket by a record margin of more than forty-seven thousand votes. He was in the party for the last five years and had the opportunity to work with the BJD supremo.

“For personal reasons, I am unable to continue in the party and hence resigning,” the MLA stated.

Notably, BJD announced its second list of candidates for the General Elections 2024 yesterday.
