Odisha: Ayush medicos temporarily call off stir following talk with Health Secy

Bhubaneswar: An ongoing agitation of Ayush medicos in Odisha under the banner All Odisha Ayush Students’ Association (AOASA) was called off today after the State government sought time to consider the demands made by the outfit, a press release issued by AOASA in this regard said.

The Dharna (sit-in) has been temporarily withdrawn as a talk is to be held between the student body and an Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC). “We will again resort to agitations in the days ahead if our demands will not be met by the Government” an office-bearer of AOASA expressed.

After a conducive discussion held with the Government and following a commitment given by the Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) Commissioner-cum-Secretary Shalini Pandit, the outfit decided to put its agitation on hold for the time being, AOASA secretary Lopamudra Khatoi stated.

“Our talk was cordial and demands were heard in a positive manner,” the AOASA secretary added.
