Odisha: Bada Osha festival held at Dhabaleswar Temple sans devotees

Cuttack: The Bada Osha, one of the major festivals at the Dhabaleswar Temple in Cuttack district, was held today sans devotees this year.

As the district administration has imposed section 144 prohibiting devotees from entering to the temple due to unsafe suspension bridge over Mahanadi River following pedestrian suspension bridge collapse in the city of Morbi in Gujarat, the devotees observing Bada Osha can witness the divine Bada Singhara Besha of Lord Shiva on virtual mode.

As per the schedule, the famous Gaja Bhoga will be offered to Baba Dhabaleswar at midnight during 3rd prahar of on the occasion of Trayodashi (13th day in lunar fortnight) in Kartik month.

The Gaja Bhoga will be distributed among devotees tomorrow morning.

The temple door was opened after decorating the deity with flower ornaments following completion of rituals including Mangala Arti in wee hours today.
