Odisha Bandh on July 15: Congress supports bandh call
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha unit of the Congress party has extended its support to the Odisha Bandh to be observed by the left parties on July 15 over rise in the prices of petrol, diesel and essential commodities, informed Niranjan Patnaik, President, Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC).
The Odisha Bandh will be observed from 6 AM to 12 noon. The party has also urged consumers not to buy petrol and diesel on July 15 as a mark of protest against the hike in the prices.
Blaming the Central Government and State Government for the price hike, the left parties have called for a six-hour Odisha Bandh.
Workers and members of the left parties are likely to stage road blockade, thereby affecting vehicular movement on July 15. They have appealed the people of Odisha to lend support to the bandh observance.
