Bhubaneswar: The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has given its approval to Odisha's first indigenous Rapid Antigen Test kit IMCOV-AG.

The kit has been developed by Bhubaneswar-based IMGENEX India Private Limited. The Regional Medical Research Center (RMRC) here has extended all necessary assistance to the firm for the purpose.

Official sources said research on kit had been initiated in June, 2021.

The kit, which will help detect COVID-19 virus, has been developed at a cost of Rs 1 crore. It will be available in market in next two months, informed IMGENEX India founder Dr Sujoy Singh
